jetjr Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I agree, regarding IFR, not only am I not qualified, Im not sure its a good idea in RAA type A/C. In the US it seems they talk about it alot in these types of A/C. In terms of redundancy, yes the Dynon is newer to the A/P scene but thier other gear very good and they have good support. Ive no doubt they will have teething issues but this is an Auto pilot - cant you just take over and fly it yourself??? Dynon offers great value, as was mentioned, if youve already got an EFIS, just $750 gets you GPS tracking and levelling - keep throwing money at it to upgrade as you go JR
theoy Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Hi have a look at this web site http://www.trioavionics.com/ez_pilot.htm We have it on the ailerons only and works very well. Very easy to hard wire to Garmin 296 and Pilot 3. cheers Theo
ianboag Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I have the Trio EZ-Pilot. It works. One of the features I really like is that if you accidentally fly into the inside of a milk bottle (can happen inadvertently here on a claggy day) there's a button to push for a 180 degree rate 1 turn. Of course, even just selecting the AP without this will at least activate the wing levelling function. IB
