PaulSullivan
My name is Paul Sullivan and I am a volunteer pilot for Amelia Air Rescue, a tax-exempt nonprofit (501(c)(3)), dedicated to flying shelter pets off death row. Our mission is to prevent euthanasia at overcrowded shelters by flying at-risk animals to no-kill rescues who have the resources to find them loving families. As 2022 came to a close, we were able to surpass our goal of 500 animals rescued, bringing our final number to 513 for the year (and 1008 all-time!) Our west coast team is looking for pilots in the Bay Area, Sacramento, and Oregon who are willing to volunteer their time and skills in order to help us expand and save as many animals as possible. As many of you know, the pacific coastline is often IMC, so we are especially looking for instrument rated pilots. However, anyone is welcome to get in touch if you are interested in rescuing companion animals! Flying to save lives is a great way to build hours, stay current, and exploring new locations outside your normal routes. Amelia Air will provide all the supplies, walk you through the procedures, and plan the missions. You get to do the fun part - flying to rescue pets! Check out www.ameliaair.org for more information, or follow us on Instagram or Facebook to see recaps of our latest rescues. Contact [email protected] to get involved! Cheers.
