Col Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Has anyone tried or got any thoughts on these? http://clarityaloft.com/
Carbon Canary Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 No experience with these, but I know a GA instructor that tried a similar Bose earbud type headset, and ultimately went back to a Bose A20. My understanding was that earbud headsets are fine for a low background noise airliner cockpit but ‘leak’ too much when there is a noisy Lycoming or Continental up front. A Rotax or a Jab are substantially quieter so maybe the earbuds are ok ?? Dunno. 1
Area-51 Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Have tried both TSO and non TSO versions... the audio quality is superb. They are non active passive noise cancelling. in an airliner cockpit they will work great... in a rotax 912 cockpit i did not find their audio performance sufficient at full power; in cruise they were ok. 1
Area-51 Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 (edited) The end result will be determined by quality of your comm's and actual individual hearing... with sufficient volume control they will work fine in an ultralight... The headsets themselves are great; its the external variables that affect their op' performance... they rarely come up for user resale so its an indication people are generally happy with them.
