bigpuppasmurf Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 G'day All, I wanted to gauge opinions/ recommendations WRT to the Davewood Syndicate currently operating the A32. Im merely doing my research and don't want this to turn into a Jabiru V's Rotax argument just interesting in hearing from current or former members to assist with decision making. Thanks everyone in advance for any assistance.
RocketShip Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 I was involved in the Davewood syndicate, but not for a number of years now. Was back when they operated a red Foxbat 24-4333 and before that a white Foxbat. At the time the syndicate suited me fine. Had no problems whatsoever. The syndicate was run very well. They had been running the syndicate for a long time before I was involved. 1

Thank you so much Rocket for replying, Appreciate the information, any negative parts you can remember and how was your experience when you wanted to sell your share, Happy to chat off this forum or DM if that suits you better. Regards
Bruce Tuncks Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Not answering the question I know, but yesterday I heard that the foxbat lot are not effected by the war and they now have a spare parts operation based in Poland.
pmccarthy Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 They are still building and exporting aircraft and providing good spares support. 1
Bruce Tuncks Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 That's great news PMC. I'm embarrassed to say I always referred to the foxbat as "Russian" , Wow wrong huh.
burrac Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 (edited) In 2016 my old man and I bought their Foxbat 24-8118, as they upgraded to a Vixxen. Great aircraft. Records and ADs were all in order, and we had no issues bar the usual things that pop up over time (e.g. Rotax carb floats). Then in a bit of symmetry, last year we upgraded to a new Vixxen, and have been loving that too. Last shipment before the invasion, but they restarted production quickly. Great to see them producing again at a solid rate (8 a month worldwide I think I saw?) Edited January 19, 2023 by burrac 1 1

RocketShip Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 That is one very nice Vixxen pmccarthy. What cruise speed are you getting from it?
pmccarthy Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 110 knots is easy, at only 5100rpm, I haven't tried fine tuning things. I have been focussed on learning to use the autopilot. They advertise 115 kts, but that probably needs 5300 rpm I guess.
RocketShip Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 I did see it noted at 115 knts. I thought hmmm, I wonder what it actually gets? I would be very happy with 110kts.
