Is it possible to fit an 'on condition' engine on a 24 rego plane?

If you like or do not mind  E24 as your new reg then fill your boots.

To avoid the E you need to comply with the manufacturers maintenance and operating requirements ... and very few manufacturers are willing to supplant the engine manufacturers operating and overhaul limits with their own longer ones.

Only if the manufacturer agrees / allows you to,

OR

you get an AP to sign off on it (which it is not uncommon to get Rotaxes signed off for being over calendar years.)

I guess what I'm driving at is that it would probably be the same process for a fake 912 from China. In which case I would feel safer behind a well documented used real 912.

From what I'm, seeing they are not marketed to  the same clients as the certified real one IS. You can make your own engine for some category of planes, but getting it certified is another matter entirely. Nev
