flyerme
NOTE- Sherlock Ala is under construction!!! Main 350mtr 08/26 strip is in fine serviceable condition and open However a new rwy of 600 mtrs has been marked and from the air looks inviting! It has a visible white cross of NON-SERVICIBILITY as the nth end has SINGLE PHASE POWERLINE RUNNING OVER IT IN LINE WITH HOUSE I am currently contructing(attempting to contruct) a 500 mtr rwy for the faster boys/gals( without obstruction) but could take some time. So visiting pilots use the clear visible dirt rwy 08/26. 350 mtrs- it's clear of obstruction and good to go - stick to centre as runoff on edges may be softer. Thanks look forward to seeing you drop in-- ahh. Ease her in... Any questions or for more info pm me 1

SDQDI
YQDI, if anyone gets stuck due to weather on the range don't hesitate to pm me. We can organise airport pick up and a car (if we are home of course) Contact details are also on the aero club door. Prior notice is nice (if you are doing a planned trip) but not nessesary and certainly not expected if caught by the weather. We are all friendly and don't bite........ Well depending on how long since we last fed of course:wink: 2 1 1
pylon500
Not trying to gloat (especially for people with long trips just to get to a strip), but I just walk out the back door, up to my hangar, and when ready just taxi out onto Taree Airport and go. Compared to others, I guess I can't complain about the grass runway next to my hangar continually being closed... My place is the blue roofed house and hangar in foreground. 9

If you're thinking of Ollie's Hornets, he's actually in the silver hangar next door, followed by a parachute operation, then Gary Morgans hangar (yellow doors). There used to be a Harvard living in the blue hangar, but haven't seen it for a while, just an almost finished Esqual/Lightning and one of Ollie's customer Hornets awaiting delivery. In front of those hangars is the new space for more hangars (if you've got the money....)

Hargraves
Hi people i,m posting this in reverse and looking for an invitation to meet Raa members in and aroud the Darwin area. I,m traveling up their for my first visit in the first week of June for a week via comercial air. Having a lifelong Australian military history interest I would like to get in contact with fellow pilots up their with a view to possibly viewing the same harbour topography and terrain as our current trading partners fathers did, from the air, in their quest for their "greater southeast asian co prosperity sphere" during the second word war. I fly an SS 4 storch muster out of elliot field bundaberg and any interested pilots up their would be great to meet up with you. Pindan
YGAR - Western Australia- Ningaloo Reef To all who fly Gnaraloo has 2 strips now, YGAR can be found in the country airstrip guide and there is a new strip right at the homestead. Accommodation is available and even a hire car so you can travel around. Fuel could be arranged if you needed it but Carnarvon has fuel supplies and is only about 100km south. Cheers Paul 1
ClintonB
Pack your fishing gear, I moved to Carnarvon just for the fishing in the late nineties. Had some great times there. I miss the climate and tucker from there now. Pindan Is it true the ship wreck gone from the cliff base now? near the salt jetty at cape cuvier. Pindan
both the shipwrecks have virtually gone now, the one at the salt and the one on Gnaraloo, but the fishing is still the best in WA
kaz3g
I know the area well having lived in the Upper Gascoyne at what used to be Cobra Station. I also looked after Nyang closer to you for a short period. i remember Gnaraloo used to come up on the pedal when the RFDS base and School of Air were humming in Carnarvon. And I remember the sharks at Quobba!

Roundsounds
OMG! so many airstrips so close, I live in Culburra Beach, nearest strip is well, 1.5 hrs away... Goulburn, or there is Albion park, 1 hr away. which is security controlled. when it comes to flying, i hate this part of the world.. I feel your pain! I too live in Culburra and have my aeroplane based at Camden. Hopefully the Jaspers development will be completed soon.
spacesailor
This forum is a little STALE ,. So Is anyone willing to give other forum members a joy flight , Seems silly but when you check the professional hire, ers they want a reasonable price for ONE person to go , ' Victor 1 ' , But double for two then triple for three . Come on , it doesn,t cost that much for the extra pax !. About, $ 370 for one $740 two pax, $ then $1000s for three pax . I know RAA doesn,t allow making money but REASONABLE EXPENCES goes a long way , to make people happy. Just thought I would put it out , spacesailor
spacesailor
The original enquiry was from my ' grandaughter ' , who had her first taste of flying , with a tiff flight at Camdem.s , Curtis aviation. I suspect I might have been an ' addon ' for this joyflight . ( hopefully ) . But it may have been for her eldest son , who is at high school. P S the first price seems low . But I don,t think she could afford $ .000 , on a registered nurses pay , hence my enquiry from forum members . spacesailor
