skyfox99 Posted April 26, 2008 Share Posted April 26, 2008 Hi to everyone on the forum. I just done a Jabiru J170 Conversion today. I like the plane a lot. The extra speed sure is good...once you get used to it. Most of my hours have been in a Gazelle and an aircraft I built myself.. farri Posted April 27, 2008 Share Posted April 27, 2008 Skyfox99, I got involved with flying,over 20 years ago, when,after seeing a very basic Ultralight, I got the bug and built a copy of a 2 seat Chinook,then had to learn to fly it,there was no twin seat instruction,legal, at the time,it did everything best, around 50kts,fast is realy only better if you`re in a hurry to get somewhere. Building my own then having to learn to fly it was one of the greatest experiences of my life,completely different to all the other thrilling experiences I`ve had,I also have a Maxair Drifter that I used for training. Yes your right it was in 5281, and your right again it doesnt want to come down. I spend another hour in it to get a better handle on it. I found maintaining 65 knots it was ok, any faster and it will keep floating. Sure is a lovely aircraft though. I would think they are there so that that part of the wing will stall before the rest? But really I dont know. Can you tell me what they are about?
