Some systems you can vent overboard but you should always confirm with gauge movement. Tip  tanks on a Comanche need to be used up early as a power loss makes the fuel unavailable. I can't racall the Navajo . I've time on the Chieftan  under instruction, but never bothered with the endorsement.  Fuel management is usually a 100% pass required like weight and balance is. . Nev

My J230 fuel drains leaked...  (changed O rings- and dont forget the header tank drain O ring) . Not fast enough to make a difference but eventually they would have…

My Jodel has Jabiru tank fittings. Even though the old O rings look okey, today I bought new ones. Each O ring cost 11 cents.
The new fuel line cost $12 dollars.
This little baby is starting to cost me real money!

See you with a collection bucket at traffic lights on Saturday morning. It shouldn't take much out of your day.:cheezy grin:

Do you have a size for the O ring, I'm inspired to do the same.

Trailer they were “110” on the O ring board at our local Engineering shop.

14.45 OD, 9.35 ID, 2.5 thickness- my amateur reading of the vernier.

I have an assortment of O rings, but cannot be sure of their quality or suitability for fuel, so went to town to get what I hope are proper ones.

Just pulled out the old fuel lines, which are marked SAE 30R7.

Replacing them with SUNFLEX ROFL050 fuel line SAE J1527 6mm.

This hose claims to cope with 100C continuous service.

Planefinder shows

1942UTC 9,000' at 197 knots (basically unchanged for over an hour)

1945 8,307' at 197 knots

1950 5,533' at 181 knots

1955 3,536' at 109 knots (best glide?)

2000 2,548' at 109 knots

2005 300' at 93 knots

Well losing 2,200ft in the last 5 minutes means there was at least partial power for that period ... 400fpm decent is not an unpowered glide in that airframe.

Jabiru fuel drain O-ring size. I took an o-ring off the fuel drain and took it to a local supplier. The 110 was too big so like for like this is what I installed. No leaks and did several aircraft. One early model Jab had a badly perished o-ring and did not survive removal, so was a good job done. Best supplier of course is Jabiru who I usually support for most items.20230416_121509.thumb.jpg.fc95abcbb80f945b9daa1dfb511daa30.jpg
