Can’t possibly be an engine failure, not with a Rotax can it???? Glad the pilot survived and hopefully can recover to fly again!

If longeron is rusted that would not assist airframe staying intact.

Hoping for the best outcome for the pilot and best wishes to his family.

Despite the hysterical news reporting, it looks like the cockpit has remained largely intact - the pilots injuries are likely to be survivable - a relativly good outcome.

 

Note the orientation of the aircraft, relative to the dirt road behind it - pilot probably trying to land on road and has, unfortunately, overshot
