Marty_d Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 The aircraft was taxiing in on the line and the truck got in the way. Headline should read "Idiot drives food truck in path of plane". 1 2
planedriver Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Ouch! I guess someone is now looking for a new job. Can't imagine what the cost would be for repairs and it being out of service. 1
facthunter Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Even IF you're on the line, you should still keep a lookout.. Nev 1
spacesailor Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Could that ' Ryanair ' STOP that quickly, to let the " Dumass " driver do what they Wanted . spacesailor
onetrack Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 The problem here is highly trained crew in the aircraft, and a low level of training and skills in tarmac equipment operators. I mean to say, there must be strict positioning limits for service vehicles when aircraft are still taxiing. 2
facthunter Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 The plane made a turn and should keep an outside look as well as following the lines. The truck probably would not know which Bay the Plane was going to turn into or if it was taxiing out to commence a flight. The F/O should have been keeping a lookout as he knew which way the plane was turning and the other side pilot cannot see anything. Nev 1
