I've seen some very nice examples in central Queensland, Benalla, and other NE Vic strips, and there was a claim on this site a few years ago that "about a third of them just ran unregistered" which if true, unlike the other BS he was shouting, would account for not being aware of them. I saw one, after sunset, when we were camping at Theodore Showgrounds and had the lights on, happily sailing past under the trees. Others in NE Victoria offer joyrides for a reasonable fee.

Wasn't the factory at Redhead, south of Newcastle. There's a lot of good workmanship in some of those.  Nev

Airborne, Gone to China a few years ago.

Airborne Windsports is negotiating to move its manufacturing operation offshore by the end of December 2022.

The supply of spare parts (from Airborne Australia) for hang gliders and microlights will be affected by this move. The last date for parts orders for supply from Australia is October 14th, 2022. The fulfilment of these orders will be subject to availability.

The supply of spare parts for gyrocopters will NOT be affected.

A big thank you to all of our past and present customers for your support. We apologise for any inconvenience, unfortunately the manufacturing business suffered substantially since the start of the Covid pandemic, and it has become impossible to continue production in Australia.

A website that has remain untouched for a year seems to indicate the entire operation is defunct. Even their Farcebook page hasn't been updated in a year.

Yeah and they are now screwing local Airborne customers that need spares by telling them 'sorry no help here'!

time to spread the word to their potential gyro customers that this is not a manufacturer/dealer that you want to do business with!

They don't manufacture the Gyros, they just import them to resell.

I knew Rick Duncan (original owner of Airborne) back in the 1980s when we were both Hang Gliding. Was a real nice bloke then. Is/was he still involved with Airborne? Their products used to be good quality.
