dominicm Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 I wouldn't have thought long flight times were possible with an EDF jet. Seems I was wrong! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrIq7ZYHqGw 2
mkennard Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 The aircraft looks very unstable, maybe that was the wind. I could see the direction finder but not the distance to you in the HUD, where was that?

This is a first flight so there may be bell crank changes, but also some pilots are better than others at modulation, and some are not trying to imitate real flight appearances.
dominicm Posted December 10, 2023 Author Posted December 10, 2023 Bad cross wind on that day and we get turbulence off the top of the trees at that location. I was focussing on reading the telemetry more than smooth flying most of the time. Some improvements still to make. Not sure why distance to home wasn't showing in the telemetry. I will look into that. And because I'm using a flight controller I will on future flights take advantage of the gyro stabilisation. 1
mkennard Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 Thanks, since flying Ultralights I don't have time to fly RC anymore which is a pitty because I loved it. I love watching your videos.
facthunter Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 A lot of leading edge sweepback has to make control touchy and need gyro stabilisation anyhow. Nev
