red750 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 A Sydney Airport worker drove his vehicle into the engine of a parked Jetstar aircraft. They're so small they are easy to miss, although in this instance, he didn't miss.
red750 Posted January 22 Author Posted January 22 Sorry. Later news report says the aircraft was being towed. 1
Roundsounds Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Obviously the A-320 had the ADSB turned off. The driver of the ute had no chance 4 1
facthunter Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Bugger! This ute is supposed to be unbreakable? Nev 1 1
Jabiru7252 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Probably a moron driving the car, becoming common these days.
facthunter Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) Do you mean the UTE ? It was parked wasn't it. Anyhow I think there's clearance lines marked out and I wouldn't think you'd leave a vehicle inside them . The plane should be keeping an eye out also .. Expensive and shouldn't happen. spacesailor Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Did that plane , get towed into the stationary Ute. spacesailor
Methusala Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Perhaps Joyce should have kept the experienced ground staff!
facthunter Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Was it being towed? That is not very common. Mostly it's just push back to a position clear of the finger and disconnect the tug. Nev 1
skippydiesel Posted January 23 Posted January 23 When I drive past Sydney Airport (Mascot) I see plenty of parked aircraft, well away from the terminal buildings. 1
facthunter Posted January 23 Posted January 23 The ones coming and going are the biggest % of apron movements. Was the plane under it's own power? Nev
