onetrack Posted January 25 Posted January 25 More media BS and headline-grabbing. No "flipping" involved, the aircraft crash landed on the water and lost a float, and all the pax were offloaded onto watercraft with no injuries.
kgwilson Posted January 25 Posted January 25 And according to 9 it was taking off and one of the "INFLATABLE PARTS BURST". Are these reporters stupid or what? 1
planedriver Posted January 25 Author Posted January 25 Every chance that the float was damged by striking floating debris, which i'm always wary of when in my small boat. Occasionally you see something in the water which is capable of damaging a hull. 1 1

tillmanr Posted January 25 Posted January 25 (edited) TheABC is reporting that it was an aborted takeoff and the damage occurred when landing hard. Maybe damage occurred during takeoff? Edited January 25 by tillmanr Added text 1 1
rankamateur Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Also reported that someone from the plane company came out in a boat and got the passengers into life jackets. Good job they landed nearby. 1
