I have some lengths of wool and some dowel that can be mounted out on the wingtip... if the wool is moving then i know i have airspeed! Rag & Tube craft get a double bonus by sharpening the dowel and driving it through the skin. If it doesn't rip then the skins are still good to go... no batteries or subscription required... B'ozRunways cannot do any of that!!
kevinblack Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Response is a bit dated, but I have been on the fence with OZRunways and AVPlan erring towards OZRunways. Now decision made. (and the one does not include 'OZ' in the name). This from AVPlan: AvPlan EFB is an Australian owned and operated company, established in August 2011, operating from headquarters in Melbourne, Australia. Works for me. 1

Boeing had Foreflight certified in Australia in February 2023, but the application failed to make significant ground against local EFBs OzRunways and AvPlan. “OzRunways and ForeFlight have a common culture of innovation – creating software with a focus on intuitive, pilot-centric design,” said Bas Scheffers, co-founder and CEO at OzRunways. “Now we are excited to join the ForeFlight team and collaborate on bringing even greater capabilities to pilots all over the globe.” “As ForeFlight continues to look for ways to best serve customers today and long term, we will continue to strategically invest in new capabilities,” said Tim Schuetze, ForeFlight CEO. “We look forward to the knowledge-sharing our companies can provide one another to help deliver the most comprehensive portfolio of products and services to pilots and flight departments in the region.” Looks to me like they are 'folding' OZRunways into Foreflight - it's only a matter of time.
