There must have been a connection there somewhere? Perhaps in the process of going for a medical, some will go nuts and others choose to bolt.

I renewed my Basic Class 2 today. So easy, printed the form, went to my GP, who bulk bills, he filled in his bits, and signed and stamped it.

Completed the online bit in MyCasa, paid my $10 and voila... Basic Class 2 issued, and emailed.

Yes, Class 5 is easier, but the Basic Class 2 is pretty easy (and cheap) also.

The application I did for a Class 2 asked for my medical history. My trainer said I should have just ticked No,No,No, right down the list an it would have gone straight through but imagine what would happen if you made an insurance claim and they found you'd had an undeclared medical episode years before.

I ticked the box on drivers licence for diabetes. If I could go back and change it I would. The crap I have to go through every year is ridiculous.

My blood sugar averages 6 to 7.  They use to declare diabetes if your sugar was 10 or above.  I don't have any symptoms whatsoever. Thought I would do the right thing but never again.

That's why Self-reported is not a good way to go for a safe industry

I would NOT have thought 6 to7 was a problem. It seems they have continuously raised the BAR. . Weight control should hold all that. stable.  Nev

How many accidents are from medical episodes

It's around 12% for car and truck drivers, surprisingly. The University of Adelaide did a study on it in 2008. For pilots, quite likely a lot less, but possibly more than you might expect, too.

After a serious aviation crash, often with accompanying fire, it can be difficult to determine precisely whether a medical event precipitated the crash.

For older pilots (over 65), the potential of a medical episode causing a crash would be greatly increased.

wonder what the truth is though. most of those studies are manipulated to get the required outcome.

I think that statements a bit of a cheap shot - without providing any evidence - at a lot of people who do a lot of hard work to try and define causes behind crashes.

There may be some studies, initiated by companies with a vested interest, to get a desired study outcome, but the studies by the universities are generally even-handed.

Sorry but my experiences are that university people believe that they should be very highly paid and to do so some will sell their soul.   Really anything can be proved with statistics.  My daughters first lesson in living skills in Texas was  called "How to lie with statistics".  We generally don't teach living skills

Don't declare Cialis.  You can't fly for 25hrs after taking one, and they are talented one a day.  Not that I would ever need Cialis  no  no not at all.  What does Viagra and Cialis do to you that you can't fly?  Anyone know?
