BirdDog Posted March 31 Posted March 31 (edited) So here’s a question. I purchased a very nice cover for my Bristell from someone, and then found out the aircraft that it came from was involved in a landing incident and written off. Non fatal. So the question. ia it bad Juju to use that cover on another aircraft? Would you use it on yours? Discuss Edited March 31 by BirdDog
Thruster88 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 It is the pilot that avoids landing incidents not the cover so yes I would have no problem using it. 1
RFguy Posted March 31 Posted March 31 (edited) I dunno.... I'd be looking for bad-luck particles still attached to the cover. If you can, find out of the cover was put on the aircraft after the incident. If so, you'll need to soak the cover for 48 hours in LL100, then another 48 hours in a strong detergent, agitating from time to time. When you can apply a match to the cover and it doesnt burn, you're done. Edited March 31 by RFguy 5
Marty_d Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Bits of my plane are from crashed or written off aircraft. Doesn't worry me in the slightest.
facthunter Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Covers don't cause landing accidents. They should be faraway when it's Landing. Nah I'm NOT superstitious but you might have made a bargaining point of it HAD you been aware earlier.. That may caused some to doubt your mental fitness to fly. Nev 1
pmccarthy Posted April 1 Posted April 1 You should have been warned, perhaps there was a cover up. 1 2
facthunter Posted April 1 Posted April 1 There's a DC-4 landing gear door I left somewhere west of Wynyard towards Smithton.. Make a neat outhouse door. Nev 1
Marty_d Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I don't think they bother with doors on the outhouse, out Smifton way. 1
