duncan_rtfm Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Hi. Some years ago there was quite a stir about a New Zealand designed aircraft engine. From what I remember, production was moved to the US, where it seems to have died. Last I heard, the designer returned the engine to NZ to continue development. And then nothing. Anyone know anything about this engine? The designer? Current status? Regards, Duncan
440032 Posted June 2 Posted June 2 2011 era DUKE Engines 4 stroke axial engine dukeengines.com nothing on their website since 2013.
Freizeitpilot Posted June 2 Posted June 2 A brief article from 2019… but no recent update on the technology. https://www.motoringweekly.com.au/2019/04/16/the-duke-engine/ Someone is still paying to keep the Duke engines website visible, but early technology businesses are capital hungry and are often times capital constrained. Maybe they are in survival mode between research grants ?
facthunter Posted June 3 Posted June 3 That set up is like a hydraulic pump It has plenty of obvious potential issues. I wouldn't invest in it. Nev
