facthunter
The Triple 7 is not a bad aeroplane and been around for a while. Probably an engine maintenance issue. Nev

red750
The FAA proposed a new airworthiness directive earlier this year to address a potential flaw in Boeing jets, DailyMail.com can reveal. According to the FAA proposal, the issue involved an electrical fault on the company's 777 jets that, if left unaddressed, could cause fuel tanks on the planes' wings to catch fire and explode. Discovery of the flaw exposes that nearly 300 more Boeing planes are potentially at risk, including jets used by United and American Airlines, according to the notice by the Federal Aviation Administration. facthunter
I doubt that is the issue with this one. ALL this extra stuff comes up any time the name BOEING is mentioned. Nev Edited June 8 by facthunter
CT9000
surely a simple compressor stall is no big deal
facthunter
May be that but they are a series of Bangs out the front of the engine. Could be Foreign Object damage or a compressor blade failure or the Turbine disc that gets hottest. Nev Edited June 10 by facthunter

facthunter
ALL THIS is NOT in the OFF topic though. . AS a bit of info with these TWO engined planes, the routes approved these days allow up to 6 hours Flight on one engine. Nev
