Captain Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Hey Ian. I note that membership is 1888 today, and counting. You must be doing something right, so worry not about the 3 or 4 naysayers and look at the support that this site has. Where is the party when it gets to 2000 and who is buying the grog? Regards Geoff
Admin Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Geoff Remember this thread that had nothing to do with aviation: Warning to all men - Recreational Flying but was what I was doing at home for the kids - putting the pools in? Well here are some pictures that I have just taken this morning - the workmen are hard at it putting the building up over the spa and swim spa. In 3 weeks the builders start pulling the entire roof off the house and putting a truss roof on and building in the veranda to make a huge family/rumpus room. I will then be having a HUGE party for any forum member that wants to come along, have a swim, spa, a sauna, drinks, barby etc so stay tuned for that one. Yes Geoff, 1,888 members is a great achievement and remember our goal for this year was 2,500 so we are well on our way and if only 1% of them get some form of safety advice or can fix a maintenance problem etc - then putting up with the politics is ALL worth it
Yenn Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I had though that this forum was politically neutral. The politics must have gone over my head, but keep up the good work Ian and enjoy some time off.
Guest Fred Bear Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Oh look, I'm sick of this thread. No, joking Really! We all get a little hot-headed at times and I am good at it too! At the end of the day I think our hearts are where they should be. Looking forward to the party. You can't beat the Jetsaver fares down to there Ian!
Guest airsick Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Oh look, I'm sick of this thread. No, joking Really! We all get a little hot-headed at times and I am good at it too! There you go again Darren! As long as we can all look back at it at the end of the day and have a chuckle at it (and ourselves) there's no harm done. Now get back in your box Darren.
icebob Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Do as the man said Darren, you forget i can lob an emty beer can onto your roof:laugh::thumb_up: Bob.

That's looks to be a great way to wrack up lots of points before the Millennium arrives. I'm going to mow the lawn tomorrow so I can go flying on Sunday. Regards Geoff

Captain Posted May 30, 2008 Author Posted May 30, 2008 The roof should be off and it's just about 2000 members. Well done Ian.
Admin Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 getting there The roof: and now for some free skylights that we got on the job - I did one, my father did one and the builder did one plus some cornices fell down from the vibrations - note the supports holding the ceilings up as they started to collapse - we should have moved out of the house :
