Tony Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Hi Guys. What are the propper NKG Spark Plugs for Rotax 582 with Oil Injection system ?
facthunter Posted July 26 Posted July 26 I'm not aware of any difference. Oil in fuel can lean the motor out a bit because it's more viscous with it added. Nev

Nev But, the oil is the same mixture whether it comes in through premix or oil injection so it is the same spark plug. (in reality it is slightly different because you use less oil at lower throttle settings with oil injection but it is close enough to need/use the same spark plug)
facthunter Posted July 26 Posted July 26 No. When it goes through the carb jets it has no oil in it. That's when the air/fuel mixture is determined.. Nev 1

The ones with the solid steel top are the best. Aluminium tops will make conductive dust in the caps. Wade Marhlo has them at a good price. Find him on FB or see thruster flyers group downunder for the add.

Tony Posted July 27 Author Posted July 27 There is a SERVICE INSTRUCTION ROTAX SI-2ST-010 R1 For 582 Mod 99 the approved Rotax plug is 897055; equivalent to NKG BR8ES dia 14 mm For 582 Mod 17, with the "new" head, the approved Rotax plug is 297656, with 2 electrodes dia 12mm; which is also approved for 912 100hp engines, the same plug !! Because most people do not like to pay $ 55 for a single spark plug to Rotax, the NKG offered equivalent for 912 100hp as the DCPR8E Hence, people are using the same DCPR8E in the "new" head 582 and in the 912 ULS 100hp as well. The 912 80hp takes DCPR7E. Confused by my research ? No warrantee, welcome to Rotax !!! 👾😅 2
