FlyBoy1960 Posted August 21 Posted August 21 good to hear this information. I had heard production stopped in Japan a long time ago and the engine was no longer being manufactured. Hopefully it continues for some time to come because it is an ideal option now that Rotax have killed off the 2 strokes
HKS Engines Posted August 21 Author Posted August 21 Engine production ended due to slow sales. We still have some new engines and parts are being produced. To make another production run - 1000-1500 engines - just wasn’t viable. But the current parts inventory is enough to support them for decades to come, particularly due to its reliability.
facthunter Posted August 22 Posted August 22 I'm pretty sure the HKS engine I flew was a V twin. Comment? Nev 1

facthunter Posted August 22 Posted August 22 What could it be then? It was Japan made (well) and geared and touted as the engine to replace the Rotax 2 stroke. I've got about 35 hours behind it. Kiev Prop fitted to it. Nev 1
