Reporting at its best...

"The student miraculously escaped injury after a low speed runway excursion"....

Well if it was low speed, what's so miraculous about escaping injury??

Looks as if the airplane is off the taxiway A3 and not the runway as reported.

Is the wing partially detached at the rear?

First time back for months and still the same ol same ol. Does one person really need to contribute their opinion (sorry "fact")  on everything 31 000 times?  Less is more. The comments are  either banal and obvious, or uninformed about something they clearly have no experience with. In this case uninformed.

The RAAF, for all its faults, now has a very good culture around aviation safety and investigation. Generally a no-blame culture if there was no intent and open reporting. They look at the whole chain. But at the same time they require pilots to be very competent so a standard has to be maintained. Their safety culture is demonstrated in the fact that it has been a LONG time since a fatal, despite the fact they operate aircraft such as the PC9 in close proximity (6 or more often in the circuit with trainees, formation training, low level nav.)  They do a lot better job at that side of things than they used to. Anyway, when it comes time to listen to a single persons opinion on everything from Quicksilvers to the problems with the latest RR 777 engines, i will be sure to be back! 🙂

Twice I commented. in a light vein in this topic Are you having a bad hair day or something? 31,000 times?   It's not fact giver. Its facthunter and my "never stop learning"has always been there, For your information I know lots of service pilots many of whom who have been treated harshly for incidents they have been involved in.. . I've also been involved in  accident /incident investigation. Flown a big range of aircraft types. I don't use complex terms when I post  and don't waste words & still have great sources in the Industry if I need to check things. With well over a million dollars of training I thought I might  be able to give something back. Nev

Mate, this is a forum where individuals can state their views on topics of interest. No need to 'prove' expertise, readers are on their own in evaluating the relevence or value of stated opinions. Of course their will be disagreements and clashes of will but we maintain a civil tolerance - adds to the experience. Enjoy it and take from it whatever has value, ignore the rest. MOP rgds, Don
