Hi Everyone

Where in SE Qld can I get that paste to put on your spark plug thread that Rotax recommend? If possible in a small amount and not super expensive?

Maaaate! Check out the this Forum,  "Aircraft General Discussion" -  "Started a Spare parts List" There is a fairly in-depth discussion on this topic, starting about  01 June/24.

FYI - If you purchase plugs from Bert Flood, they come with (small additional charge) or without, the heatsink paste.

I've just ordered Sportstar parts from the factory in Czechoslovakia so I added a tube of Wacker P12 to the order. It's not available at the moment.

You may like to consider armed security, to make the delivery and a safe to lock it in,  IF/WHEN it ever gets delivered😈

Seen on my last annual. Order spark plugs from Bert Floods here in Lillydale Vic, and they will kindly smear the ends with the exotic and rare paste for you! Will also send you the fancy Rotax branded double electrode plugs.....needless to say, a bit more $$$ then the NGK's!

Multiple points on plugs were common prior about 1930. I don't know of any real advantage. They tend to fire on one point only. Line of least resistance and it's more places for a piece of carbon to lodge..  What about heat range. ? Surely with some conditions a slightly hotter or colder plug would be needed.  A plug that is not tensioned correctly  can run hotter. Plugs overheating gives pre ignition or detonation or an engine running on when switches cut.  Nev

I get mine pre-pasted from Bert Floods as well. NGK is good enough for me.

I'm pretty sure Mark Kyle noted somewhere here that he just uses the same stuff that's used on heatsinks etc in electronics. Which is available in a tube or syringe from any electronics shop.
It's called heat sink compound.
And I've also used it on my solar hot water evac tubes where they plug into the header.
