GEMCART Posted Monday at 10:27 AM Posted Monday at 10:27 AM Wanting to buy a plane and hire a local pilot when needed. Most flights will be Two hours round trip. What is the proper way to pay the pilot hourly, daily, that both of us come out. It is a single engine piper. TIA
rgmwa Posted Monday at 10:42 AM Posted Monday at 10:42 AM Round trip from where to where? More to the point, why buy a plane with all the associated hangar and maintenance costs when it would be cheaper and easier to hire a plane and pilot when you needed to. Also, this is primarily an Australian site and assume you are wanting to fly in the USA? 1
GEMCART Posted Monday at 11:23 AM Author Posted Monday at 11:23 AM Sorry. As you can see, this was my first post. We'll look other places. Thanks.
Area-51 Posted Monday at 11:44 AM Posted Monday at 11:44 AM Hiring a pilot will entail a commercial aspect to the flying; so the aircraft being a GA Piper will automatically qualify. You are better off trying a forum site such as "pprune.org" for this sort of question. You would want to provide a bit more information; are the flights day time or night time? Are the weather conditions to be flown VFR or IFR? How many passengers will be on board; Are the flights instructional? etc etc.
rgmwa Posted Monday at 01:51 PM Posted Monday at 01:51 PM If you’re near an airport have a talk to the flight schools or FBO staff. They will be able to answer a lot of your questions.
facthunter Posted Monday at 11:01 PM Posted Monday at 11:01 PM Private pilots are not permitted to operate for Hire or reward. There are limited conditions where some cost sharing maybe permitted.. You can lease your plane to a flying school.. Nev
