Aero10 Posted December 30, 2024 Author Posted December 30, 2024 Thankyou Blue adventures... i appreciate your response.....I was sort of hoping there maybe more than one place in OZ....looks like its still a monopoly I will email Wal.....for my needs regards Aero10
facthunter Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 The 2 strokes are not supported by Rotax. Thermostats can fail. You should be able to adapt something. Nev

Nev Not correct facthunter, I have bought parts for 377, 582 recently. They even have about 10 new 582's still in oz. Parts will be available one way or another (usa) for a long time. There are a lot of 2 stroke rotax in use with aircraft and snow mobiles. 1 1 1
Aero10 Posted December 31, 2024 Author Posted December 31, 2024 Thankyou Thruster88 for the great news on 10 new motors in OZ....and your facts. I also fly a Minimax tailwheel with a 447...great aircraft. Theres nothing wrong with 2 strokes when maintained correctly. Facthunter...making something fit into an engine that you will be flying means your a test pilot.....Ive been flying for 32 years..and I dont wish to be a TEST pilot. Im really looking for good advice only. I have received positive info from Wal. Happy New year to all. cheers Aero10 1

facthunter Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I'm only trying to help. I'd prefer to operate without a thermostat in an airborne 2 stroke. Use shutters or a blind. Thruster I was only repeating the words the Makers used, at the time. Of course resourceful people can keep these things going but you have to get stuff early in the Piece, like low time 582's when people pulled them at 300 hours and put a new one in which didn't cost that much, if you sold your old engine on. Incidentally, I've been building and tuning competition 2 strokes since Pontius Pilot was in diapers. I don't wish to blow my own trumpet, but I'm NOT coming from a position of ignorance in this matter either. ,Nev 1
