gareth lacey Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Hi Skip, i have some about a mtre long its black with a wire outsde 50mm its yoursif you can use it Cheers Gareth 1
kgwilson Posted January 5 Posted January 5 You can get it from automotive suppliers. Sceet is lined with the wire coil sandwiched between the layers, Scat is not. The perceived issue with Sceet is that the inner lining can become detached though it has a higher temperature range and is more flexible than Scat. Usually double stitched either side of the wire coil and allows for smoother airflow. A metre of No 9 or 10 cost me about $45.00. Over $200 from Spruce. 1 1

kgwilson Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) If there is an inner liner and no wire coil showing it is sceet. Sceet is also double stitched. If it has no inner lining and the wire coil is visible it is scat.  Sceet                                                                                                                       Scat  Edited January 6 by kgwilson 1
spacesailor Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Thanks. . I didn't know that nice smooth inside was even available. My turbo Delica has " scat ' . But , would have thought " sceet " would be better for the ' turbo/ inter-cooler/ induction ' tube . spacesailor Â
spacesailor Posted January 6 Posted January 6 The ' original ' Delica scat holds a lot of turbo oil . When it has it's annual clean-cut . I have to stand it on end .to drain the oil out , as it just pools when horizontal. spacesailor Â
facthunter Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I assumed it was only ambient air. If you're leaking oil, the engine may runaway. Not turn off. Nev
onetrack Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Your turbo is not likely to be creating pools of oil in the intake hose, I'd suggest it's coming from your engine blowby, and also a possible faulty PCV valve. Â A faulty PCV valve (clogged or stuck shut) will vent excessive blowby into the intake, and in well-worn engines, that blowby is carrying oil as well. A faulty PCV valve will also prevent proper oil return to the sump (or crankcase) from the turbo. Your enclosed engine oil system should contain negative (vacuum) or zero pressure, thanks to a properly-working PCV system. Small 4 cylinder engines don't develop a lot of negative sump pressure, but it should be zero pressure at least. Â Bigger engines (V8's, V6's and L6's) have strong negative sump pressure, you can measure this quickly by removing the dipstick and holding a small piece of paper flat against the dipstick tube. If there's good vacuum in the sump, the paper will be sucked flat against the dipstick tube. If blowby pressure is immediately very obvious, or if the paper is blown away from the dipstick tube, your engine is very well worn, or your PCV valve is faulty or plugged, and needs replacing. New PCV valves are not expensive. Â Below is a good Danish website, with a more extensive explanation of the PCV/turbo problem. skippydiesel Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 FYI;  Most suppliers of SCEET & SCAT are now selling in lengths of 3 ft to 11 meters BUT tend to quote in the cost per foot (to suck you in?).  This can be quite expensive stuff to buy especially when only a small length is required and you are forced to purchase the minimum?  SkyShop would seem to be in a minority of one - they quote & sell per foot SCEET - 8 (2in) @ $25.20/ft 😈
