rgmwa Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I flew from Warrnambool to Melbourne in one in the mid 1960's. Ansett, I think. It was an experience walking uphill to my seat and being able to see right into the cockpit and watch the pilots at work. Lots of noise. 1

facthunter Posted January 14 Posted January 14 It's a matter of timing. Be there at the right time. Despite all the Intense experiences it was a lot more dangerous. The training especially. but bullshit could not be a part of it. You had to make it happen. Planes that had in excess of 70,000 hours on the Airframe The only engines I've shut down in anger were R-2000's 5 of them. Not all at once of course. Over 5 years but there were other things more concerning than engine failures. Nev 1 1
