BrendAn Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Anyone heard anything about an aircraft landing in a paddock beside the Mornington freeway this afternoon. It was on the radio news 1
440032 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Perhaps someone landing at Hickinbotham Winery airstrip. 2
BrendAn Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 It was a police report about 4.00 pm. Said a plane made an emergency landing in a paddock beside the freeway. I have never noticed an airstrip near the M11. I remember a couple of years ago emergency services rushed out to a crash past Ballarat. It was an ag plane refilling. Someone on the freeway seen an aircraft disappear and rang 000. 🤣 1
red750 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 An internet search turns up a couple of reports, but at least a couple of years ago. Nothing recently.

turboplanner Posted January 14 Posted January 14 If it was an outlanding it would have been a glider. Multiple strips in paddocks there in sight of the freeway. 1

Both the Mornington & Bellarine peninsulas have a number of small strips, some on vineyards 9 hours ago, 440032 said: Perhaps someone landing at Hickinbotham Winery airstrip. Sounds like a strong possibility 1 1
