Moneybox Posted Wednesday at 12:02 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:02 PM Just spotted this on the news flash...
onetrack Posted Wednesday at 01:34 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:34 PM (edited) MB, it's old news now, the CRJ made a terribly hard landing (reasons unknown), a fire started, and then the vertical stabiliser and a wing snapped off - then the aircraft skidded at 90° to the runway, and the remaining wing and aircraft fuselage turned turtle. About 8 people suffered injuries, 3 are critical, possibly as a result of undoing seatbelts whilst inverted, and falling and landing on their heads on the roof. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-02-19/video-shows-moment-delta-air-lines-flight-crashes-flips-toronto/104953244 https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/delta-plane-crash-toronto-pearson-airport-minneapolis-st-paul-international-airport/ Edited Wednesday at 01:37 PM by onetrack corrected event sequence....

I just came in as the news flash came up in the middle of something Mrs M was watching. 1
ClintonB Posted yesterday at 06:03 AM Posted yesterday at 06:03 AM I watched this the day it happened and was surprised that everyone getting off had their back packs and jackets. where was the leave all you belongings behind and exit the aircraft quickly. 1
ClintonB Posted yesterday at 06:15 AM Posted yesterday at 06:15 AM Maybe the big fire burning the fuselage up might help.
facthunter Posted yesterday at 06:25 AM Posted yesterday at 06:25 AM They had fire hoses on it quickly, Canadians don't panic easily. They are cooler than most People. They are even COOL on Trump. Nev 2
onetrack Posted yesterday at 08:58 AM Posted yesterday at 08:58 AM Quote Maybe the big fire burning the fuselage up might help The big fire burning the fuselage would help me take a lot bigger steps away from the wreckage! I'm amazed the fuselage stayed in one piece, kudos to the CRJ designers. 1
sfGnome Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago What surprised me was the dude who was upside down in a burning plane, and still thought to pull out his phone and video the evacuation. Me, I’d be hot-footing to a suitable distance before even thinking “now, where’s my phone…”. 🫣 1
facthunter Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago It's not that easy to move around in an upside down Plane or get out of the doors and windows. . IF you're waiting because others are in the way you might as well phone people.. It's instinctive. It wasn't burning inside. Nev 1
