Reports are coming in of an aircraft that landed on a Wedderburn roof, apparently at the airstrip.  Ambulance rescued an occupant.

I can't work out the type. It's pretty light construction.  I don't think you'd land there by choice. Nev

Yer know - I was impressed that that Jab managed to slip between the water tank and the hangar outrigger down SA way last year when the pilot pranged it. This one beats that - managing to park it on the hangar roof without so much as cracking one of the solar panels behind 'im.

I'm impressed. Exceedingly curious, but impressed nonetheless.

Not Wedderburn Victoria 😁.

People talk about the oaks and Wedderburn, just wondered if they are the same airfield. I will look it up on google.

No, they're not.

Wedderburn is home to the Sport flying club buried among the trees - makes it easy to spot going past... The Oaks is about 5NM southwest of Camden, two separate airfields.

They don't give you a lot of room, when you're pulling into one of those multi-storey aircraft parks, hey?

At least everyone is ok, on the ground and pilot. I would much rather a few nicks and scrapes than the other option.

poor old plane is a bit worse for wear.

How did he miss the panels behind but not go over the edge in front?

The aircraft was heading towards the panels when it impacted the roof in a deep stalled condition. It has then rotated about 90°. To be so low at the departure end of the runway suggests a possible power problem. My analysis just from the video.

Here's the airstrip.  The hangar is the top, nearest the runway.  I am guessing he hit something before arriving on the roof, given the minimal damage there Vs the damage to the plane.  If it is a Provisional Registration, then maybe it was part of test flying that showed up a problem.

This exercise reminds me of the old bloke crashing his Cessna into a big tree in Connecticut in 2017. He stalled into the tree, the tree acted like an aircraft carrier arrestor - he rotated 180° during the arrest, and the aircraft flopped right way up into a car park. He suffered only minor injuries.

Reminds me of an incident at Barwon Heads years ago. The owner of the sky diving op, Luke ? Executed a sharp L/H turn after lift off on 27. L/H wing clipped the front of a hanger & he cart wheeled into & penetrated the roof. Had to be rescued from an inverted position with fuel leaking around & into the hanger. Questions were asked about his suitability to operate a sky diving operation let alone fly. I was flying trikes in those days & there were a few near misses with the sky divers. I nearly collected a meat bomb as I was on short final to the active runway & had to take evasive action to avoid this clown as he crossed right in front of me. Happy days
