flipfloppity Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Hi all, I've been working on a tool that allows visualizing METAR/TAF data at your departure/destination/alternate airports as a color-coded timeline view. I like seeing the data this way - I'm curious if anyone else finds this useful? You can see what the output looks like in the attached image. Link below: https://www.wxbriefer.com In general I'm interested in building a more streamlined one-stop-shop briefing tool that can consolidate WX, NOTAMS, TFRs, and other advisories into a good summary document. I've always found it cumbersome to go through the entire briefing that Foreflight generates, for example - are there any existing tools that already do this? 1 1
Deano747 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Like this a lot - the visual representation is easier than imagination. Great start on what could become a very useful tool. It only seems to work at out Capital cities primary airports in Oz though. OzRunways EFB does what you want in filtering out extraneous data and only gives the required details for your route. It has been bought by Boeing, so the software for this may find its way into your Foreflight.
Area-51 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Ozrunways has TAFG which is a useful tool however it does not combine departure arrival destinations together. That being said there are other Wx tool charts in Ozrunways that will present transiting conditions for the flight plan entered.

Yes, here's a sample TAFG which does unfold an AD's forecast across a timeline. It'd be interesting to see the idea extended to a planned route. CLICK FOR FULL REZ.
