I have just joined after retiring from airline flying and looking to do some enjoyable recreational flying in the future.

welcome oslj. Would be a big change to go from airline flying to recreational flying, but hey, lots of people do it. What kind of recreational a/c are you thinking of? No good asking me. I learned on a Gazelle, then transitioned to a J160 Jab. So I guess I'm kind of biased.
