Just went past tooradi. This morning. Only 1 aircraft where there are usually 6 or 7.

I heard they all moved to Leongatha because of the price rises

Tooradin was bought by Amber Airports a few years ago, haven't heard anything good about Tooradin since then.

 

I think they thought they could make plenty of money out of it.

Hope they lose patronidge and make even less money. IF they employ greed tactics.

Maybe it time to start a ‘Do not fly to list’ Tell them, if their rules don’t exist in ERSA, they can’t be enforced.  👍

Landowners do own the airspace over their properties, and can restrict access to it, or charge for entering it. But the terms must be freely made public.

The best treatment for greedy people is to avoid them, or their businesses, at all times.

Good luck getting any court in Australia to say you own the airspace at circuit height under any circumstances.

Yes, I think these cases had more to do with the large risks involved in particular cases rather than concluding ownership of airspace in any event.

As a man said to me on the phone today, you can drive your unregistered car with no license on your own land because you own it. 
He suggested I remove the numbers of my aircraft,  and fly in my own airspace because I own it, with no registration and no pilots license🤩

I wonder how I would go in front of the beak, on that one👍👍

The "Prince of the Abrolhos Islands" had some difficulty arguing his Princely entitlements in a W.A. Court! But perhaps you could try "Prince of All Airspace" and see how you go! 😄

Knowing that law is not founded on logic, it’s a no go !

Not according to the link you posted...you need to negotiate a purchase above and beyond your land ownership.

In other words owning the land doesnt mean you own the airspace

With the exception of Take off & Landing (including go round low pass), pilots endorsed in Low Level Flight, we are  allowed to descend to 500 ft above the terrain, 1000 ft above built up areas. 

 

As I understand it this is THE LAW - private airfield owners would have to overturn this, to enable charging for access to the airspace above.😈

But there ARE restrictions on certain areas of airspace you are NOT allowed to transit, are there not? Military airspace, tall buildings airspace, certain areas deemed by councils to be "no-fly areas"? Skippy, I think you're simplifying a principle that is nuanced, depending on who has obtained, and where they have applied, controls over certain areas of airspace.

Called PRD's Prohibited, Restricted and Danger areas. You have also "fly friendly" areas and you sure don't barrel through other Aerodromes  circuit or training areas. . Glide Clear of built up areas also applies..   Nev
