skippydiesel Posted April 17 Author Posted April 17 Holbrook this weekend. Weather looks promising. All the signs are for a great fly-in.😈
jackc Posted April 17 Posted April 17 If there ever was a chance I could go, this is the flyin I would like to attend. A personal friend of mine from 50 years ago ,was a luminary in Aviation for that place. Sadly, I never got back there in recent times, Bryan Gabriel RIP 😣 one of the most knowledgeable in the country on Ultralights. One day I will get there, to see his legacy 👍 1 1
facthunter Posted April 18 Posted April 18 It's a Place with a great Legacy. I used to go there regularly. Nev

He was an amazing craftsman, the cars were something else. The ultralight museum, also amazing.

At that time he owned an Orange ‘69 or so Corvette, worked for a Defence Dept contractor, from memory. 1 1
skippydiesel Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 Great day at Holbrook. Fantastic flying weather. The members & Committee have a wonderful set up, everything neat & well maintained. Met a Forum member or two. One with a stunning yellow Sonex. Not a big show but what was there was quality all the way - very nice range of aircraft eg Mooney, Pipistrel Virus SW tail dragger, RV's well represented by a lovely 3 & I think a 7, Some Jabs, 2 Sonex & a Onex, 2 Cirris (one from OzRunways), etc etc😈 2 2

I think its an annual event - some attendees were comparing today's excellent weather with previous years more "challenging" systems😈 3
