Ian did test several headsets in flight in my aircraft. Also tested phone connect capability and so on. He went to a fair bit of effort to make sure his product is up to scratch.

What head sets do you use and will you try Ian's to compare with yours.

I use the headsets that came with the CT. They are not ANR but do not need to be, no I didn't try Ian's units. Can't remember the make of mine and am away at the moment so cannot check. I also have DC 13.4's Peltor's and a Bose ANR to play with but don't bother because there is no need. The CT is a bit like a fridge. It is white. Open the door the light comes on. If you are cold select more heat, if you are hot select more cool. It just quietly does it's job so no need to change anything just add fuel and service.

Hi CT900,

One of the many benefits in flying a composite aircraft is, as you attest, an inherently quiet cockpit. In my last aircraft, an ATEC Zephyr , it was perfectly possible to hold a conversation with my passenger, without yelling. Headset, mostly for external communication and also helped with noise fatigue minimisation on a long trip - never needed noise cancelling. My Sonex on the other hand, certainly benefits from noise canceling.😈

I have a set of Ians ANR headsets.

They do a good job, and are much better than any of the passive sets I have. Phone connection is quick and simple - just read the instructions 🙃

Are they as good as a set of Bose A20?

No.

Are they good value for money

Definately Yes!
