Guest Paul Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 :thumb_up:Hi all, I was flying by, looked down and saw a gaggle of aircraft. So I thought I'd drop in to say hi, HI. My wife and I live in Far North Qld, Perfect area for flying. We have an area called the Tablelands which has Large dams, crater lakes heaps of private strips, fly towards the coast, one minute you are at 500ft AGL and within seconds the ground drops away and you are sitting at over 3500ft AGL (perfect for practicing ridge soaring). Then drop down towards the coast and have plenty of beaches and reefs to fly over we love it here. We fly Microlights, Our first one was a Airborne Outback 582 and now we own a Pegasus Quantum 912 which is a great aircraft (and by the way, for sale Alert 912 for sale - Recreational Flying )looking to order a new XT 912 Tundra. Anyway, hope to keep chatting with you all soon Paul

farri Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Paul, You`re correct in what you say,I`ve enjoyed the view, from the air,for the last 20 years. I`m the guy with the strip, just north of where the Mulgrave and the Russell rivers flow into one. I`ve attached a photo of a group of Trikes that flew in on their way to the tip of cape York.. Cheers, Frank.

cazza Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Hi Paul, Welcome to the forum. Loved the photo of the trike adventure. We have a group of 15 recreational a/c that are going on a big safari in July up through longreach, Karumba, then over to atherton, airlie beach and down to Cessnock. No trikes, but lots of others. I fly a J160, but I have 10 hours in a trike and they are such FUN. Maybe we'll catch up with you when we are in atherton. CAZZA

Yenn Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I had not realised that all Aussies are not smiling. Maybe it is time to go and have a look, on second thoughts wait for warmer weather down South.
farri Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Gods Own Country. Hi Yen, If all Aissies are not smiling they should be. I was born in Italy,60 years ago and my parents migrated here, with next to nothing, 59 years ago, from what was then, a war torn Italy and I thank God and my parents every day for it. We have one of the best countries on the planet and we need to try and keep it so. Cheers, Frank.
