Guest Fred Bear Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Well here it is. As promised. It may be a week late but I finally get around to posting this well overdue trip report on the wonderful bird that is the Lambada. Off we went last Sunday afternoon with the pilot in command being Gerry Bolster (also the distributor for the Lambada in Sydney). We tracked toward the South over the town of Mittagong. There were a few lumps and bumps around on this day. Quite alot of thermal activity which and eagle was happy to prove to us by shooting even higher than us at 4,500ft!:) Magnificent birds. Well here's Mittagong starboard. We continue to track to the South overflying Kangaroo Valley. A bit of tiger country down there folks! Picturesque non the less. Part of the office and Gerrys feet! The layout is quite logical and certainly not cluttered. Oh what a huge wing! You almost feel as though you are in a 737. Big wing=massive amounts of lift and an aircraft that is quite happy to just keep flying. A quick check of the map. The Lambada on the ground at Jaspers Brush Airfield, NSW. The Lambada with the club Gazelle in the background. Jaspers Brush Airfield,NSW. Well folks, the sign says it all. Welcome the folk at Jaspers Brush do make you feel. Plenty available here for the visitor. Chips, tea, coffee and if you are like myself, beer! All at very reasonable prices. Ofcourse the coastline is also a stones throw away. A very beautiful scenic place. The Airfield is also kept in great condition. The Jaspers Brush Airfield does appreciate a $5 landing fee. Well worth it. A good place to spend the day and probably night in summer. This is literally 30secs after take off from Jaspers Brush Airfield. See what I mean about scenic? 7 Mile Beach on the return to The Oaks. The wonderful coastline around Kiama. Tracking North along the coastline and back to our home airfield at The Oaks, NSW. Thanks to Gerry Bolster for the flight in the Lambada. You can view the Lambada in action for the time being at The Oaks Airfield NSW. Hopefully soon Gerry will be able to bring to The Oaks Airfield the Samba. I have included some contact details for Gerry and also some specs on the Lambada.
