phvdw Posted August 7, 2008 Share Posted August 7, 2008 sometmes the oil gets very hot, orange zone, oil pressure drops to minimum. no possibility to cool it down in flight. motor has 450 hours governor johostroj and alisport porpeller (constant speed) happens mostly after a short climb or sharp turn, oil temperature is climbing in a few seconds from beginning green zone to the orange zone. have someone same troubles? all ideas tofind the rootcase are wellcome. thanks from Belgium Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest pelorus32 Posted August 9, 2008 Share Posted August 9, 2008 G'day, I don't know the answer here but here are some thoughts: Is the constant speed unit hogging oil at points where it has to go fine - a climb or a sharp turn? Does the Rotax have a pressure bypass valve of some sort? It sounds like the oil flow is being disrupted. Let's wait for some of the guys who know what they are talking about to chime in here.
