IanR Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 One of the things I enjoy with flying is getting into the older aircraft. The possibilities for this are, I think, quite limited. At Camden we are lucky - there are two places that private hire Tiger Moths and one that does a Chipmunk. Other than that there are a number of people doing "joy rides" in Yaks, Stearman, etc. What other old aircraft are there around available for hire ?
kaz3g Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 There is a J3 Cub somewhere around Sydney and an Auster at Tyabb (Vic). I had an incredible adrenalin-rushing ride in a Yak 52TW at Coldstream a couple of weeks ago. This is Andrew Temby's aircraft and its rated at +9 and -6! Forty-five minutes of tumbling around the sky and I'm still blown away... http://www.flymefriendly.com/gallery/v/various/2009-11-BirthdayAeros/100_3463.JPG.html kaz
Mick Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 There is an L-4 Grasshopper with genuine RAAF history in New Guinea during WWII available for training/hire at Caboolture. As soon as I get a tailwheel endorsment I would like to go down and have a go init.
