A PILOT suffered suspected spinal injuries when his crop duster crash landed today in South Australia's mid-north.

The 38-year-old man was the sole occupant of the single engine light aircraft which crash landed at the Jamestown airport just before 11am (CST) today, police say.

The man suffered suspected spinal injuries and leg lacerations and was taken to the Jamestown Hospital for treatment, a police spokesman said.

This was in the Adelaide Now Paper

"THE pilot of an ultra-light plane received spinal injuries when it crash-landed at Jamestown, in the Mid-North, this morning.

The single-engine aircraft crashed near South Tce, Jamestown, about 350km north of Adelaide, about 11am.

The man, 38, of Booleroo Centre, was taken to Jamestown Hospital with a gash to his leg and back injuries. His injuries are not critical.

A CFS appliance attended the crash site to contain a fuel leak.

The Recreational Sporting Aircraft Association will hold an investigation into the crash."

Can anyone tell what kind of plane it is???

It was, but just to take the heat off Guy (Blueshed), the pilot was relatively unhurt, no spinal injuries, and in good spirits though still in hospital.

I'm sure that Guy will report on forum when he gets the chance. Pity about the aeroplane, but that can be fixed.

Hi Guy's

Appreciate the lack of speculation as to what has happened ! Still piecing the bits togther !

Yes it is amazing how you can mangle a machine and walk away, What an Aircraft !

Not sure of the actual course as yet, the man has a very sore foot and has been sent to Adelaide via a PC12 (the things you have to do to get a ride in one!) so they can realign his foot !

All I know at his point ! other than he said he thought he would take the back seat in the PC12. Still got his sense of Humour, very important !

Know some details however will leave this until we have all got together and put it all together,

Thanks guy's appreciate that

Cheers Guy

Thanks for the call Decca, much appreciated

What a day ! there was an interview on chanel 10 this evening, spent some time educating and then did interview, how did I do ?

Lou Hendricks was the journalist name, her and her crew respected what we had to say and we feel portrayed this very positively and actually got things correct !011_clap.gif.c796ec930025ef6b94efb6b089d30b16.gif

Very Much apreciated Lou, cheers Guy

See.... communications does work. If you work with the jurno doing the story when it comes to mainstream media then the facts do get used.

Aside from that, its great to read a good news story.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery blueshead.. She must be a tough bird, looks like a pretty savage whack on the terra firma.

Cheers.

Good to see that the pilot is okay. I've never seen a machine that is more important than the pilot flying it.

Plane crash at Jamestown S.A. PPrune

On the PPrune thread - Plane crash at Jamestown S.A.

The pilot has given a good description of what happened.

Some interesting discussion on what happened follows.

Be interested to hears Guy of the Blueshed's thoughts after they try it again at height.

"My instructor, suggested that we do it again. May-be from a bit higher up"

Either possibility would certainly be a very frightening experience.

Jamestown Jabby

The Jamestown Jabby is back in the air and flying as beautifully as ever.

The trip back from Bundaberg was uneventful and a weekend flight to Broken Hill viewing the overflowing tanks and dams in the area was wonderful

Good to hear everything worked out well and also well done to everyone here for not making any speculating allegations. Something that is done way to frequently on PPrune unfortunately.

This is somewhere that I have gained a higher respect for the RAA community, great support and no BS. Keep it up guys!
