Guest palexxxx Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Hi everyone, I'm just wondering if there are any opinions/impressions that anyone has of the Cessna proof-of-concept Light Sport Aircraft that Cessna announced at the EAA's AirVenture 2006. Cessna is noncommittal on whether they will go ahead with manufacture of the new plane but they believe that "light sport aircraft may be the key to stimulating new pilot starts and re-enegising our industry" Apparently they will make a go/no-go decision about whether to build the LSA before the end of the first quarter of 2007. Personally, I like the look of it. (see the picture on page 16 of Plane & Pilot, October 2006 issue). It is a high-wing aircraft powered by a 100 hp Rotax 912 engine, made of a combination of aluminium and compostite parts. What do you think?
Admin Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Hi Peter there are pictures in this thread http://www.recreationalflying.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=671
PaulN Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 If they decide to proceed with the concept I think it will be very exciting. Depending on their price range, with their history in the industry, it's likely to be in high demand. With the growth in recreational aviation it'spretty muchinevitable that they will proceed.
Guest palexxxx Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Hi Ian, I tried to click on the link that you provide but for some reason I don't have permission to view that thread, at least, that's what I'm being told. Peter.
Admin Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Peter Have a look at the thread in this forum dated 8th August titled New Cessna LSA
