HDPilot Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 I'm looking at buying a Storch and would appreciate any infornation on things to look out for. Do they handle dirt strips OK? What is their after sales service like? It states on their web site that it has the 912 80 hp motor, can it take the 100hp motor? Cheers
storchy neil Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 :welcome:hdpilot to the flysynthesis storch world after 270 hrs in one it will land on grass dirt tenis court very flyable the 912 80 hp will pull you to 105 knots if you can aford a fuel burn 18 lts an hr abad habit is that to fly other aircraft you have to re evaluate your flying it is very easy to fly my away trips are all planed at 85 to 90 knots 100 hp not needed neil

Keith Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 The Storch does look like a nice plane, looking at buying a kit too ... any advice on how a Jabiru engine in one would rate compared to the Rotax? (eg is the airflow under the Storch cowling OK for a Jab motor?)
storchy neil Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 hi keith jab in the frount of storch  yes not a great deal of differance slightly less climb the kit from what i have seen is bloody brilant :thumb_up: no painting no sanding a big mocano set neil
Keith Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Sounds promising Neil, as that seems to knock a few thousand off the price... do you know if the fuselage in the kit comes in a single piece, or is it a glue together job? Cheers, Keith

Keith Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 No worries ... thanks to Neil for the piccies. Looks like my kind of kit to have a go at (no previous experience!) ... have been crunching the numbers to see if it fits the budget ... get all excited, then I watch the news and think I should watch my wallet instead ... How much do you reckon I should figure for buying and installing a 2.2 Jab motor?
