Guest Maj Millard Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Have a Microair 760 VHF as factory fitted in the Lightwing. Very happy with it's vhf performance but also operating the intercom through it which is noisy, and I have to keep switching it off. Am I just too tight to buy a dedicated intercom box, or has anyone got any other suggestions on how to get rid of the noise ?.

sain Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 you could try adding a voice activated switch to trigger the ptt for the intercom. Might be a little complicated though, unless you know some electronics.
brilin_air Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Hi Maj, On the side of the microair radio there is 2 adjustments that can be made, 1 is for mike gain and the other adjustment I can't remember but it is in the installation book, also by pushing the mode switch on the front you can adjust the vox input so as to adjust it from open mike to a closed mike situation where you have to talk very loud to open the vox intercom. We operate through the radio intercom and find that it works great. Brian

Guest Maj Millard Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Thanks Sain , Brilin Air, and Michael, for all your welcome imput, I have just downloaded the manual and will look to see if I have the adjustments. If not the intercom boxes aren't that costly. Thanks for your imputs. Cheers
