Same here.

Leaving tomorrow to ride down to help a mate who is racing a couple of Manx's and a couple of Harris Suzukis.

But mainly to watch Shaun and Steve on the Katanas and watch/listen to Beau on the Vincent.

By the look of it just about everyone who in to aircraft are in to bike as well...

Near enough, Shaun. I've always had fast road twins, mostly European.

In the last few years, after a gap of nearly four decades, we "got the band back together". The survivors gathered at Hidden Valley to perform unnatural acts on motorcycles. Each year my Darwin mate buys a faster bike. When I go up for my annual visit he puts me on it. Last year it was the GSX-R. Useful power from 4 to 16,000 rpm. They don't rev, they vibrate! I had awesome fun; my 1975 leathers still fit, but are a little outdated. So is my riding style, but I wasn't the slowest on the track.

I have finally let my bike rego go. The funds won't stretch that far, and I've recently had a few close shaves on the road with people who don't give way. Sad, but I have some great memories.

Yes I stopped riding on the road after some near death experiences in the early 90s around Sydney, now I just ride at the track much safer, at least most people are going in the same direction!

It might just be a rumour then, my informant riding the RS1980 in the team is good at getting rumours started! He never let's the truth get in the way of a good story!

From memory it did break, as did my mate's other XR69 that was being used by your informant's son on the 1st day.

(The 2nd one didn't "break" so much as it sprang a leak of the slippery stuff.)

Didn't any of you go to Old Bar for the Troy Bayliss thing last week?. My wife's BMW 650 Scarver is for sale. She just had a major operation on her foot, and will take a long time to get it right. Nev

Suzuki RV 125, Honda XL 250, XR 200, XL 250 Degree, went off Honda then because they made the exhaust pipe part of the frame which would have been O.K had they made it stainless, but it burnt out in less than 18 months, since then I'm on my third Kawasaki Stockman outback.gif.91986d60389f6b0a565fa0f2980da0a8.gif

OK previous bikes. Honda C50, Yamaha FS1E, Honda CM 250, Kawasaki GPZ 750 R.

Recently had a BBQ flyin at Heathrow, six pilots. All six presently owned a motorbike. Must be something in the blood? 080_plane.gif.36548049f8f1bc4c332462aa4f981ffb.gif

In order of ownership,

Royal Enfield 250 (1936), Honda CB72E (1965), Yamaha RT1 360 (1971), Ariel KG 500 twin (1951), Honda CB175 (crap), Yamaha RT2 360 (1972), Ariel VH500 Red Hunter (1949), BMW R65 (1985). First one bought in 1970, still have most of them after a dozen house moves! Lack of imagination i suppose. And girls used to like a ride home from the aero club.
