Guest antonvw Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 I have a weight shift pilot license(microlight). Does this count for anything if I want to get my ultralight pilots license? What are the requirements for an ultralight pilot license?
farri Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Hi Antonvw, The best way to get the requirements for a recreational ( Ultralight) pilot certificate is to contact,"Recreational Aviation Australia", "RAA" for short. Go to the web address and all will be revealed. Welcome to Recreational Aviation Australia Cheers, Frank.
Guest Crezzi Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 If your pilot certificate is from HGFA, RRAus will accept this and convert it to an RAAus certificate for weightshift category when you join. HGFA endorsements for radio, pax & XC will be converted also. I think there is a form specifically for this on the link Farri posted. If you then wish to add 3-axis aircraft category the 20 hour minimum for ab-initio pilots doesn't apply. Hope that helps John
Guest Bendorn Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 All the guys that I know who have crossed over did about 5 hours conversion with an instructor. The rest was just paperwork. Simple
Guest antonvw Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Thanks for your feedback. I am now on track to do the coversion. I need just 5 hours and have to complete the BAK test and I am done
