I mean the big jet ones for carriers not the little lighties, they were built during the same period when Grumman built city buses for survival. Hey buses are pretty tough too. Did you ever see the landing gear tests required by the US Navy for carrier based aircraft. Saw the one for the Hornet. A straight drop from 20 feet in slow motion. Pretty impressive stuff..
