slartibartfast Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Look what arrived in Goulburn today. This is a beautifully presented Cessna 195 powered (as they were) by a Jacobs 300 HP radial engine. It sounded as good as it looks. Enjoy.
MrH Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Beautiful A Classic  & nice pix:thumb_up: H
Guest Elk McPherson Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Visitor? Not a visitor, but the return of a Prodigal Son. That C195 is owned by David Friend of DBF Aviation Services, an international aircraft ferry/delivery operation. DBF delivered most of the regional airliners in Australia today, except perhaps the more recent generation of Rex machines. David grew up out at Garundah, near Crookwell. His family has owned a property on the Braidwood Rd for three generations, since 1913. His brother Stephen owns a rather nice red Falco.
slartibartfast Posted January 17, 2009 Author Posted January 17, 2009 True Elk. He was there visiting family.
Guest Elk McPherson Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 I suppose that the aeroplane was the subject of the thread, not David.. and since it was born in Wichita and lives in Bankstown... ;)

IanR Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 You certainly will not see many 195s in Australia - even at the AAAA flyin ! I saw this one at Moruya - its a beautiful example. I think the C195 is one of the nicest looking aircraft ever (big statement) !
slartibartfast Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 David said that there are 4 now. Another has just arrived and is heading to WA. Might be good for you R461
