Smokey Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Apart from the frequencies published in the ERSA does anyone have any info on what radio frequencies are likely to be used at this weekends Richmond airshow ? While any would be of interest I'm particularly interested in the 'company' frequency the Roulettes, Hawks, 18's etc use.
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I shall try to find out and get back to you re this one. I used to have them all now I am sure a mate has them all. Don't know how we did the swap:confused:
Ultralights Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 i have a PDF file with the F18 hornet routine, direct from my contact within the RAAF. its great watching him practice his routine here at Willie every day till the air show
Smokey Posted October 15, 2006 Author Posted October 15, 2006 Thanks Darren, I thought you might know where to lay your hands on the frequencies Mark
Smokey Posted October 15, 2006 Author Posted October 15, 2006 Rob I'd be interested in seeing that, any chance of getting a copy if I PM my email address ? Mark
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Mark, I have pm'ed you one main freq. I will try to get the rest of them too and pm them aswell. :)
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Generally the Roulettes don't use any "private frequencies," they just use the relevant "centre" or CTAF frequency. If you're flying around and they are coming in you'll hear them on the channel with a very muffled oxygen mask type call saying "Roulettes 1," "2", "3" and so on... occasionally some smarty pants will say 7 over the radio.
Ultralights Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 pm me an email addy and i will forward on the PDF file....;)
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Here are a few more: Tower 135.5 Surface Movement Control 128.250 (Aircraft on ground) 121.650-Vehicle Movement on Ground ATIS 274.550 Fire 395.525
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 For those of you that went today how awesome was it? The highlight for me was the F1-11:) Amazing machine and the sound cannot be described. Will be back for another dose of it tomorrow.
Guest danda Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 I hate those F1-11 they cost me a lot of good fish. There was a combined air sea exercise ofNewcastle many years ago and amy brother-in-law and I where right amoungest itfishing was nothing short of fantastic. Then disasterstruch 2 not one but 2very big and very loud afterburners blasing F1-11 flew over our heads at a very low altitudelighting up the night sky and from then on not a fish to be had, oh how I hate those F1-11. Don danda
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Ha ha. Good story Don. Here are some pics from today. Very poor quality due to the little digital I was using and also the poor lighting conditions. Roulettes breaking Caribou overhead Caribou banking FA-18 Hornets all over the place Got to be quick to catch that Hornet! The mighty USAF C-17 Globemaster.
Guest danda Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Darren thanks for the pic's I wish some of that dirty weather would migrate down here need a little water. Darren are you going to Wagga this year? Don
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Who knows Don. If I can get some time away from my dreaded job:confused:
