Attractions in Perth...

My Brother and myself may be heading to Perth at the end of this month for a conference. and we thought we'd like to make it a decent sort of trip and stay around for a few days to check the place out a bit...

 

so what are the great attractions of this city?

Hey Tomo, well hopefully a few of us might be able to get together and have a beer! Fremantle's worth checking out with the old Freo Gaol that was closed in the 90's. One of the real attractions is down in the south west of WA about 3 hours south of Perth with the wineries of Margaret River.

 

It really depends on what you want to do when you're here and how much time you have.

 

Got any dates as yet of when you guys are coming over?

It's still in the "Thinking" stage yet, but if we do it will on the 27th of Feb for the Conference at Advent Park, which goes till Sunday Morning. then we'll probably hang around for a few days somewhere, and do a bit of site seeing...

Best thing to do is just hire a car and head out for a good drive. Check out what's on the web, a lot of tour places say visit the south west or up north to the Pinnacles.

 

Perth's very laid back and it's very much a relaxation town, there's a good pub out at Rottnest and some good fishing / surfing.

 

If you can't go to far from town but still want to check out some good wineries, head up to the Swan Valley which is about 20 minutes north of Perth.

 

I'm just getting ready to head to Bunbury to go flying (fingers crossed for my solo today) but here's a few links to check out.
